The San Diego City Council on Monday, June 9 approved a cost-recovery trash fee. The decision will help the City improve and sustain its solid waste services.
The fee applies to about 226,500 properties within the city.
On June 24, 2025, Environmental Services will present an item to the City Council to seek approval to collect the new fee via the San Diego County property tax bill. This keeps billing costs lower.
